Selfguided Tours: Budapest – Szentendre

You have the option to make your own bicycle tour based on our recommendations and advice. Be your own guide and decide your own pace and when and where to stop. Alone or in a private group, enjoy the ride in and around Budapest.

A beautiful option is the ride to SZENTENDRE. A charming city with mediterranean flair at the Danube Bank. Approximately 25 km from BUDAPEST north of BUDA. Almost all the distance is covered by a separated bicycle way. One of the most idyllic sections has just been renewed.

An easy ride, completely flat with a lot of experiences. Margarete Island, the green park in the middle of the Danube and the Roman Beach in Buda will be on your way. Szentendre offers narrow streets and a lot of art and history. There is also a beach, depending on the water level of the Danube. Nice restaurants are awaiting you.

There is the option to leave the bicycle at a partner of us in Szentendre close to the railway station. Return relaxed by boat (on weekends) or train (during the week). You will arrive back in the Center of Budapest on Batthyany Square. Plan at least 5 hours for your trip. Also suitable for families.

Selfguided Tours: Budapest – Nagymaros/Visegrad

Probably the most beautiful part of the Danube in Hungary is the Danube Bend. It starts from VÁC and goes to ESZTERGOM. In between lies NAGYMAROS with the fantastic view on the VISEGRAD Castle Ruin, connected with a ferry. Take our bicycles and ride out into the Danube Bend on the Danube Bicycle Trail. You can do the whole way and be prepared to ride for 50-70km. Or you make a shortcut and take the train to VÁC and start from there to explore.

In any case we recommend to you to return by train from one of the stations in the Danube Bend. Ask us for our suggestions ! Train ticket inclusive. For your convenience you can leave the bicycle with one of our partners. Return relaxed by train, to bother about loading the bicycle.

A full day excursion. Plenty to see and to discover. You can be sure, it will be a unique experience. Do not forget to bring your swimming suit as the area is famous for it’s beaches. Be aware that the Danube Beaches depend of the water level in the river.

This tour is also possible as a private guided tour in combination with Canoe in the Danube-Ipoly National Park.

We do not recommend this tour for small children.
