The unique guided bicycle tour into the Buda Hills. A guided bicycle tour for insiders. Starting from Madach Imre ut 12 (Madach Square right next to Gozsdu Court) you pass the Basilica, the Liberty Square and the Parliament. Leave the Downtown area and ride over Margarete Bridge to Buda. After following the Danube Bicycle Trail for a couple of hundred meters you dive into residential areas in Buda.
Passing a large park you will reach the Cograilway. Catch the train and ride up the hill effortlessly. Off course, with your bike. On the top of the hill you change again on your bicycle and will see the legendary Children’s Railway. A left-over from communist times and still popular. In Normafa, a Park where people from Budapest relax at weekends you deserve a rest. Taste the local pastry, a “Strudel” (included).
Full of energy you will climb a last hill, the highest point of Budapest. Your reward is a fantastic view from Elisabeth-Lookout over the City and up to 70km on clear days. Follow then downhill on a closed road, before turning into the forest on a path. Take it easy!
After a short while you are back in the residential areas of Buda Hills and will continue on a bicycle lane into the City. See the Castle Hill from the Western Side, the impressive Royal Palace and turn to the Danube. Passing Chain Bridge you reach Downtown and the starting point in Madach Imre ut 12.
This tour requires the ability to ride a bicycle safely in traffic conditions. Although we mainly go on bicycle lanes and quiet streets, traffic has to be expected. Downhill part on a road closed for vehicles and a forest path. Maximum weight for participants 110kg. This tour is not recommended for small children.
