Ride one of Europe’s most iconic long-distance cycling routes at your own pace — from Bratislava to Budapest along the scenic Danube Bicycle Trail (EUROVELO 6). Expect roughly 260 km of beautiful river-side cycling with mostly flat terrain — ideal for relaxed touring and enjoyable days on the bike.

Make your individual tour on one of the most popular bicycle trails. Our packages includes a train transfer (Budapest-Bratislava, or Bratislava-Budapest) and the bicycle rent. Select your bicycle from Bike & Relax in Budapest and take it with you on the train to Bratislava (ca. 2.5 hours). Several trains per day. Attention: early booking required!

🗺 Suggested stops and Cycling Conditions

Enjoy primarily dedicated cycle paths between BUDAPEST and ESZTERGOM and from KOMAROM to BRATISLAVA, though some road cycling will be needed in Hungary between ESZTERGOM and KOMAROM where dedicated paths are still being developed. Alternatively there is also the option to go on Slovak side. Road books included!The terrain remains flat, and the route is manageable for most riders with basic fitness.

Typical overnight stops:

• Mosonmagyaróvár
• Győr
• Komárom
• Esztergom

Suggestion: plan extra nights in the Danube Bend or Mosonmagyaróvár area, and don’t miss exploring Bratislava and Budapest.

Weather & Best Time to Ride

Hungary enjoys a mostly dry climate.

• 🌡 Summer: warm to hot (up to ~35 °C in July/August)
• ❄ Winter: cold with freezing temperatures — not ideal for cycling

For groups of more than 6 people, we offer one-way bicycle transport from Bratislava to Budapest (or vice versa): from EUR 1.50/km (max 15 e-bikes / 20 regular bikes). Ask for an offer.
