The route traces the river through Hungary, Croatia and Serbia, combining long, easy river stretches with occasional hilly sections; train transfer from or to Belgrade (starting and end is always Budapest)

Day 1 — Budapest → Ráckeve 📍 Distance: ~45–55 km Leave Budapest heading south along the Danube. Ráckeve is a charming riverside town on Csepel Island, perfect for your first night and a relaxed introduction to the Danube trails.
Day 2 — Ráckeve → Kalocsa 📍 Distance: ~85 km Cycle through flat rural Hungarian landscapes, passing farmland and small villages, and arrive in Kalocsa, known for its paprika heritage and historic architecture.
Day 3 — Kalocsa → Mohács 📍 Distance: ~70 km Continue south along the Danube, riding through quiet country roads and forested areas like the Gemenc Forest, arriving in Mohács, famous for its riverside charm and festivals.
Day 4 — Mohács → Osijek (Croatia) 📍 Distance: ~80 km Cross the border into Croatia and follow the river corridor into Osijek, a vibrant city with a historic old town, promenades, and riverside cafés. (Optional: skip Osijek and continue directly into Serbia for entirely Hungary → Serbia route.)
Day 5 — Osijek → Bačka Palanka (Serbia) 📍 Distance: ~80 km Cross into Serbia, cycling along flat river plains and small villages to Bačka Palanka, a friendly Danube town with riverfront charm.
Day 6 — Bačka Palanka → Novi Sad 📍 Distance: ~70 km Ride through the Vojvodina plains toward Novi Sad, Serbia’s cultural hotspot, home to Petrovaradin Fortress and lively riverfront cafés.
Day 7 — Novi Sad → Belgrade 📍 Distance: ~85 km Final leg along the Danube corridor into Belgrade, cycling mostly on dedicated paths, with opportunities to explore historic fortresses, lively promenades, and cultural highlights.
